The Accommodations Center is responsible
for facilitating equal access to the educational process at Bradford to
students with disabilities. Through the provision of reasonable accommodations
(auxiliary aids, test accommodations and academic adjustments), the Center
is designed to be a focal point for students with disabilities to achieve
maximum academic independence.
Students who are in need of accommodations
must provide documentation of a disability and make a written request
for accommodations. The Center provides disability related accommodations
based on an individual assessment of need. The Accommodations Center is
also charged with the responsibility of increasing faculty and campus
awareness of the needs of students with disabilities by offering training,
workshops and informational resources on disabilities, as well as enhancing
students' own knowledge of their rights and responsibilities as recipients
of these accommodations. Students are also made aware of outside resources
which could provide them with financial, educational and vocational assistance
above and beyond what the College can offer. A full-time Accommodations
Coordinator staffs with Center and serves as the primary contact and referral
point for students with disabilities.
