Management class photo

The Division of Management provides students with a background which constitutes the practical element of a liberal arts education. The major takes full advantage of a strong liberal arts tradition which provides general knowledge, skills in communications, and computer proficiency that are valued by business and industry. Set in this framework are the in-depth areas of Business and Marketing. These include such courses as accounting, finance, human resource management, small business, not-for-profit management, international management, etc. Students will understand the functions of the various units within a business, and will develop an appreciation of the global challenges facing business managers in today’s world. Written, oral, quantitative, and team work are stressed throughout the curriculum. The program culminates in a senior project in which the graduating student demonstrates a mastery and integration of the wide variety of liberal arts and business courses. Students are strongly encouraged to gain real world experience by including a combination of internships, study abroad/study away, and experiential work.
