Dr. Paula H. Sable came to Bradford in 1989, after twenty years of working in public schools as a teacher, reading specialist, and administrator. She has taught learners of all ages and developmental levels, from early childhood through graduate school. She currently serves as the Director of Teacher Education Programs and teaches courses in Education and Human Studies. Paula earned a B.A. in English, with a minor in education, from the University of Massachusetts (1969); she also holds a M.Ed. in education/reading from Salem State College (1976) and the Ed.D. with specialty in reading, language, and learning disabilities from Harvard University (1992). She continues to study the ways in which learning to read and write influence the lives of learners of various ages.
Dr. Sable is active in several professional organizations. She is past president of the North Shore Reading Council and the Massachusetts Reading Association and she has served on numerous committees for each of these groups. She is currently serving on the board of directors of MACTE, the Massachusetts Association of Colleges of Teacher Education and is a member of the Greenleaf Elementary School Council in Bradford.
